Next month is expected to mark the release of the iPhone 15 series, with a prominent change being the switch from Lightning connector to USB-C due to a European Union law, requiring most electronic devices to use USB-C starting in autumn 2024.

According to 9to5Mac, certain models within the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup are expecte to accommodate charging speeds of up to 35W.

Presently, the iPhone 14 Pro is confined to a 27W recharging capacity, while the standard iPhone 14 can be charged at 20W. To completely replenish the battery of an iPhone 14 Pro Max under these specifications necessitates roughly two hours.

Apple had introduced a new 35W Dual USB-C charger in the previous year, designed to facilitate expedited charging for all prevailing iPhone models. The charger costs RM239, while a 1m USB-C cable costs RM99.

Should these speculations materialise, the iPhone 15 would harness the complete 35W output from this designated charger when not charging an additional device, as this setup distributes the power delivery.

A point of uncertainty lies in whether the 35W charging option will be restricted to solely the iPhone 15 Pro editions or if it will encompass the entire spectrum of the iPhone 15 lineup.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the USB-C port will empower quicker charging speeds for the iPhone 15, although this feature will only be accessible when using officially certified cables.

It won’t be long before we will know if this is true or not, as Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 on either 12 or 13 September 2023.
