After launching the RedMagic 8S Pro in China and other countries, this gaming smartphone has finally landed in Malaysia.
The RedMagic 8S Pro is powered by a boosted version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, that was previously reserved for Samsung Galaxy devices.
The prime core (Cortex-X3) operates at 3.36GHz, surpassing the usual 3.2GHz, while the Adreno 740 GPU has been boosted to 719MHz from 680MHz.
Red Magic’s testing shows this improvement results in a 5% increase in CPU performance and a 5.7% boost in GPU performance. Other than that, it has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage.
The phone features a large 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1116×2480 and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. Notably, the touch sampling rate reaches an impressive 960Hz, ensuring a highly responsive touch experience and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display.
Also, the phone includes advanced under-display camera technology, with a 7-layer transparent material system and a specialised OLED for selfies.
To ensure extended usage, the phone is equipped with a sizable 6,000mAh battery that supports 65W wired fast-charging (charger included). RedMagic claims that with heavy gaming, the battery can last up to 9 hours and 3 minutes and can be fully recharged in less than 40 minutes.
To keep the phone cool under heavy gaming, RedMagic engineered a cooling system called the “ICE 12.0 cooling system” that comprises 11 layers, including the double-layer super large vapour chamber plate, a layer of graphene under the screen, and the iconic 20,000 rpm high-speed turbofan equipped with shark fin blades.
Besides that, this gaming phone has a powerful stereo speakers that support DTS Ultra X, a 3.5mm jack, support HBS, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ ac /ax (dual-band
2.4G\5G) 4x4mimo, 9-antenna design, and dual 5G dual-card dual-pass.
