Let’s say you actively subscribe to X Blue, but for some reason, you don’t want your friends or followers to find out, and you wish there’s a way to conceal it. Well, your wish is granted.
X (formerly known as Twitter) has initiated the rollout of a new feature for Blue subscribers, allowing them to hide the blue checkmark from their profiles. This way, you can privately subscribe to X Blue, paying Elon Musk per month, without revealing it to anyone else.
In the past, Xs blue checkmark was free and only available to users who completed the required verification process. However, the company abandoned that program after it was bought over by Musk and made the blue check a perk of subscribing to X Blue.
Once you become a X Blue subscriber, you can access the “Blue tick” menu in the settings of the X app on your phone. Within this menu, you will find a straightforward toggle that enables you to “show or hide your blue tick on your profile.”
X says “as a subscriber, you can choose to hide your checkmark on your account. The checkmark will be hidden on your profile and posts. The checkmark may still appear in some places and some features could still reveal you have an active subscription”.
Interestingly, X also mentioned that “some features may not be available while your checkmark is hidden”. It seems there’s a trade-off if you want to hide you blue checkmark.
