Local Gaming Retailer’s Website Gets Hacked: Customers’ Data Now At Risk After Attack

Impulse said customers’ names and emails were compromised, but payment details are still safe.

Impulse Gaming is a local video games store headquartered in Johor, with outlets in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Ipoh. They are one of the largest video game retailers in Malaysia.

Today, Impulse Gaming just announced on their Facebook page that they have suffered a data breach on their website, www.impulse.com.my.

The local video games retailer said the hackers have gotten hold of customers names and email addresses. However, customers payment details and data are still safe because they use a third-party payment gateway.

Impulse said they are working to fix this issue and have taken the site down until the issue has been rectified. They also added that customers should not entertain any emails coming from them for now.
