Nothing is set to launch their next flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2) this year. Up until today, the company has not released any official images of the phone, but thanks to a prominent leaker, we now know how it will probably look like.

According to Smartprix, they managed to get their hands on seemingly official renders of the Nothing Phone (2) thanks to OnLeaks.

They said that the device depicted in these renders reflects its development at a particular stage, and it’s conceivable that the design could undergo some minor alterations before its official launch.

Manufacturers typically make refinements to certain design aspects during the pre-release phase of any product, taking into account testing and user feedback. While the fundamental concept and essential design elements are expected to remain unchanged, it’s worth noting that slight variations or adjustments may occur in the final product.

The new model has undergone a redesign of its lighting elements on the back, particularly around the camera module. This modification brings a fresh and refined appearance to the device, enhancing its visual appeal.

The back of the phone now features a subtle curve, similar to a 2.5D design, which adds a sleek and ergonomic feel to the phone. This curvature could improve comfort during handling.

Similarly, the front of the device also showcases a slight curvature, which is also reminiscent of a 2.5D design. This curved display contributes to a seamless and immersive viewing experience for users.

The frame of the phone has been slightly rounded, providing a more comfortable grip and a premium aesthetic appeal.

The LED flash on the phone has been upgraded to a dual LED configuration, ensuring improved lighting capabilities for photography. This enhancement enables users to capture clear and well-lit images even in low-light conditions.

The lights surrounding the wireless charging coil have undergone significant changes. Instead of a single long strip, the Nothing Phone 2 now utilizes multiple small strips of lights. This design alteration allows for independent control of each strip, offering the flexibility to create custom lighting features around the wireless charging area. This innovation adds a unique and personalised touch to the device.

On the right edge of the phone, you’ll find the SIM tray, while the left edge houses the volume rockers and a power button. The bottom edge includes a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille. Notably, there is no visible 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nothing has confirmed their sustainability approach for the device. The Phone (2) will have a lower carbon footprint compared to the Nothing Phone (1). It will incorporate three times more recycled or bio-based materials and come in a plastic-free package. The aluminium frame will be made entirely from 100% recycled materials using 100% renewable energy.

Nothing has also confirmed that the Phone (2) will feature a larger display, with an increase in size by 0.15 inches. The upcoming phone will have a pill-shaped video indicator on the back, and the frame will be constructed of aluminium. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and include computational updates to enhance photography and videography. Additionally, the phone will receive three years of Android OS updates.

The expected specifications of the phone include a 4,700mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage.
