Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots have the potential to revolutionise the way we interact with computers. They can be used for a variety of tasks, such as customer service, education, and entertainment. They can also be used to provide personalized information and recommendations.

One of the biggest benefits of AI chatbots is that they can be available 24/7. This means that users can get help or information whenever they need it. Right now, the king of AI chatbot is ChatGPT, created by OpenAI. But Google is trying to taking the throne with Bard.

The Star reports that Google has announced the global rollout of its AI chatbot, Bard, which is a competitor to Microsoft’s ChatGPT. However, users in European Union (EU) countries will have to wait as Google seeks to ensure Bard’s compliance with the EU’s legal framework.

Bard now supports English, Japanese, and Korean languages, with additional language support planned for the future. Google unveiled Bard’s improved design and features, including clear sourcing of information, a dark mode, and the ability to export generated programming code.

Bard’s notable capability lies in answering complex questions by providing comprehensive responses, relevant internet links, and sources. For example, when asked about suitable parks for a family with young children and a dog, Bard offers key information, additional links, and follow-up questions.

Google also introduced Palm 2, a new language model with expanded AI functions, including writing, programming, and analysis, to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4. Bard operates on PaLM 2 and will receive updates with newer and more powerful models over time.

Google has emphasized responsible use of AI, addressing concerns about bias and misinformation by attaching metadata to AI-generated files for immediate identification.
