The AirAsia (AA) Superapp and Foodpanda (FP) have announced a groundbreaking partnership aimed at providing enhanced value and convenience to users across Asean and beyond. By combining their respective strengths, the two platforms will offer a range of benefits to their customers according to FP’s press release.
This strategic partnership allows AA Superapp’s ride-hailing service, AA ride, to be integrated into the Foodpanda app. This means that users of the FP app will have access to AA ride’s services. In return, FP will power AA Superapp’s food delivery service.
This collaboration will connect millions of AA Superapp users to FP’s extensive network of over 100,000 merchants and thousands of delivery partners. As a result, AA Superapp’s food offerings will shift toward a dine-in model.
Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it aligns with their vision for the travel superapp. He highlighted the positive synergy between the two platforms, with FP’s delivery expertise complementing the Superapp’s ride-hailing services. Fernandes also mentioned potential future collaborations such as payment solutions, joint loyalty programs, and subscription plans.
Jakob Angele, CEO of Foodpanda, emphasised the significance of bringing together two major Malaysian brands to offer enhanced value, variety, and convenience to customers.
While Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil, acting CEO of AA Superapp, highlighted their commitment to providing a seamless and convenient experience for users, particularly travellers in the Asean region. He stated that the partnership marks a milestone in their efforts to excel in the Superapp space.
To celebrate the partnership, exclusive ride-hailing and food delivery deals will be offered to customers of both AA Superapp and FP. More details can be found on the FP app and AA Superapp.
