The PS4 and PS4 Pro were launched back November 2013 and November 2016 respectively. While PS5 was launched in November 2020. If we follow this trend, a PS5 Pro is inevitable.

Insider Gaming reports that their sources informed them that PS5 Pro is currently in development, with tentative release window of late 2024.

There’s not much detail about the Pro console, but according to a patent recently published by Mark Cerny, the architect of PlayStation, it appears that Sony intends to enhance the performance of ray tracing in video games.

Similar to the transition from PS4 to PS4 Pro, it is likely safe to assume that the PS5 Pro will offer improved graphics, performance, and faster speeds.

Besides that, Insider Gaming also said Sony is making a PS5 with a detachable disc drive scheduled to come out later this year and this new model will phase out the current PS5 to reduce production and shipping costs. They also added that PS6 is unlikely to come out until at least 2028.
