Banks employ advanced security measures such as encryption, firewalls, and two-factor authentication to protect their customers’ information. However, customers must also do their part to ensure the security of their accounts. This includes using strong passwords, never sharing login credentials, keeping software and operating systems up to date, and being cautious of phishing emails or fake websites.

It’s also important to regularly check account activity for any unauthorized transactions and report them immediately to the bank. By being vigilant and taking the necessary precautions, online banking can be a secure and convenient way to manage your finances. That being said, CIMB is taking an extra measure to protect their customers from any unwanted incidents.

The bank just released an important notice, stating that starting from 19 March 2023, all FPX transactions above RM100 will require SecureTAC approval via CIMB Clicks App. They said this is a part of their ongoing efforts to reduce fraud risk and enhance online banking security in accordance with the regulator’s directive to combat financial frauds.

Unfortunately, if you are using CIMB Octo App, you have to get CIMB Clicks App in order to use SecureTAC for now. CIMB said the function is not available currently in the Octo App, but they will continue will update the app with more features over time.
