TikTok is one of the world’s most popular social media platforms with millions of users around the every day. Their success is built on many creators who constantly upload clips to the short-video sharing platform and to help capitalise on its immense userbase, the company introduced a new way for the creators to make money.
Yesterday, TikTok revealed a new feature dubbed “Series”, where creators can upload longer than usual videos and they get to decide how much they want to charge their fans for it. Creators also get to keep 100% of the earnings (after deducting fees) according to the company.
The company said one Series can have up to 80 videos, 20 minutes each and fans can purchase the Series via direct in-video links or through a creator’s profile.
For now, this feature is only available to select creators with applications to join opening in the coming months.
