The government will continue the implementation of the JENDELA project as a national effort to provide internet network facilities in the country.

For this year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in tabling the 2023 Budget said that RM725 million ringgit will be provided to implement digital connectivity in 47 industrial areas and nearly 3,700 schools.

All citizens have the right to obtain stable internet facilities, because it has become a basic necessity in daily life.

He also mentioned about Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) – the 5G initiative that was spearheaded by the previous administration.

Anwar said that at the end of 2022, DNB has reached 50% coverage of populated areas and it is targeted to reach 80% coverage by the end of 2023. The Unity Government, he added, is now taking an approach so that DNB is managed in a more transparent and inclusive manner to achieve full participation by telecommunication service providers.

Ultimately, what is important is to achieve comprehensive 5G coverage and at a reasonable price for the people.
