It’s generally a good idea to be cautious when it comes to opening emails from unknown sources or those that look suspicious. Cybercriminals often use email as a way to trick people into revealing sensitive information or to spread malicious software. If you receive an email that seems suspicious, it’s best not to click on any links or download any attachments until you can verify that it is safe.
Malay Mail reports that the MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) is warning the public to be aware of suspicious emails or messages claiming to offer cash prizes under a bonus scheme from a telecommunications company.
The commission stated that they have not sent any such emails or messages. The MCMC advises the public to be vigilant and not to provide personal information to unknown individuals.
Public vigilance is important in protecting oneself from becoming a victim of fraud, theft of personal information and other forms of crime.
