A smartphone battery lasts around three to five years, but that depends on how you use it. If you feel like the battery is dying faster than before, it’s time to get it replace, but getting your iPhone battery replaced is not cheap.

According to iTworld, an Apple authorised service provider, replacing your iPhone’s battery can cost as much as RM 388 and it could cost a lot more than that soon.

9to5Mac reports that Apple has announced that it will be increasing the price for out-of-warranty battery service for all iPhone models except for the iPhone 14 by USD 20 (RM 87.90) starting March 2023.

The current prices will remain in effect until the end of February, after which the new prices will take effect. Apple’s battery replacement service can be obtained at authorised resellers and service providers in Malaysia.

For now, this is only affects those living in the United States. We don’t know about Malaysia, but seeing how Apple increased the prices of its services last October, we think this battery replacement price increase is inevitable.
