The Health Ministry (MOH) has announced that Malaysians are now able to set up medical appointments for government hospitals via MySejahtera starting today.
MOH said in a statement that the app is used to improve service efficiency and patient access.
Below are the services that are available via the app:
- Outpatient Treatment
- National Health Screening Initiative (NHSI)
- PeKa Health Screening for B40
- Pre-Employment / Pre-Study Health Examination
- Pre-Marriage Screening
- Smoking Cessation Service (KBM)
- Family Planning Services
- Procedures (wound treatment, tube change, etc.)
The Ministry said the initiative is already operational at 673 health clinics, in phases, starting
with NHSI screening, PeKa B40, KBM and will be expanded to other services gradually.
This appointment system aims to help primary health facilities organize scheduled services based on their respective capacities and avoid congestion at the registration and waiting areas.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa
The Ministry mentioned that among the advantages of this online appointment system is that customers can plan visits to primary health facilities according to time.
They can also change the appointment date through MySejahtera without having to call the health facility.
The system also has an Automated Reminder function to remind patients to be present for the appointment according to the time and date that have been booked.
For emergencies and cases of fever or infectious diseases, people can still go directly to primary healthcare facilities without having to book an appointment using the app.
