The first PlayStation (PS) console was released in December 1994. The brand comes to everyone’s mind when people think of video games; they gave birth to many beloved franchises such as God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo, and many more. PS is almost three decades old, and with the release of PS5, the brand is still going strong, and the future is looking bright for the company.

According to Gizchina, Sony could be planning to release PS5 Pro during Sony’s fiscal year, April 2023. The site said that Sony’s Vice-President Senior, Hideaki Nishino, hinted at new releases during an interview with Famitsu, a famous Japanese video game magazine.

Until the end of fiscal 2022, the sales of the PS5 will cross the 37 million mark. We believe that will also be an important moment for the platform.

I can’t give further details right now, but I hope you’re excited about the next year.

According to Tom Henderson, Sony is allegedly preparing a new model of PS5 that will come with a detachable disc drive.

Henderson also implied that the new PS5 design will resemble the current ones and Sony wants to produce about 20 million units of it. Right now, there are two PS5 models, one that comes with a disc drive and one without.

Early last month, we reported that Sony is releasing PS VR2 on 22 February 2023. So far, this is the only confirmed release for next year.

We doubt that Sony is releasing the PS5 Pro so quickly, considering many people around the world still have not gotten their hands on a PS5 due to the pandemic and supply issues, which was resolved recently.

A PS5 Slim or a PS5 with a detachable disc drive is more likely to be released next year than a Pro version of the console.
