Those numerous antennas on top of the Volvo SUV are actually jamming equipment.
According to a company that specialises in such equipment, those are military-grade broadband antennas and they are designed for blocking the activation of improvised explosive devices (IED) that are remotely active via radio frequency.
Such a system is also capable of blocking any attempts by criminals to triangulate the convoy through radio frequencies, as well as any potential attempts to intercept voice calls or data.
You might be wondering if it is really necessary? Well, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is one of the most important people in this country, so the authorities are doing everything they can to protect him from any harm.
