iOS 16 was a big update, delivering some quality-of-life changes and new features for iPhone users. However, the new update also brought new problems, especially for iPhone 13 users.
According to Amanz, through their own observation in two Facebook groups, Apple User Group Malaysia and Malaysia iPhone Users, they found out that iPhone 13 users, especially the iPhone 13 Pro Max model, are experiencing malfunctioning screens after the users updated to iOS 16.1.
Users who’ve experienced green screens, the screen turning white suddenly, unresponsive, and changing colours shared their experience on social media. Amanz said all these issues are not software related, but it’s the screen itself.
Users from another part of the world also experienced this issue and it seems to affect more than just the Pro Max model.
If you are one of the unlucky users suffering from this problem, the only option for you is to get it fixed if you are still under warranty. If you are not, prepare to fork out at least RM1,500 for the screen repair.
At the time of this writing, Apple has not acknowledged this problem, but the company is releasing the iOS 16.2 update next month. Maybe this latest update will fix this issue. Until then, you might want to avoid updating your iPhone 13 to the latest version.
