Only last week, we reported that the price of the iPad Mini 2021 had jumped by up to RM300. It appears that Apple hasn’t stopped hiking prices yet. There is currently a new wave of pricing increases, but Apple is not focusing on devices this time.
Lets start with Apple One plans. This is an all-in-one subscription that bundles up to five Apple services. You just need to pay one price and get access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, and Apple Fitness+.
The subscription is divided into three tiers: Individual, Family, and Premier. The Individual plan now cost RM29.90 per month (RM19.90 is the old price). Family plan increased from RM33.90 to RM39.90 per month, and Premier plan now cost RM78.90 per month (from RM69.90).
Apple Music is also divided into three tiers: Student, Individual, and Family. The price for the Student plan remains unchanged, but the Individual plan price increased from RM14.90 to RM16.90 per month, and the Family plan increased from RM22.90 to RM25.90 per month.
Last but not least, an Apple TV+ subscription is RM10 more expensive, going from RM19.90 to RM29.90 per month. Only the prices of iCloud and Apple Arcade remain unchanged, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple decided to raise them in the future.
Malaysia is not alone in this. Apple also increased the prices in the US and the USD2.44 trillion company told TechCrunch:
The subscription prices for Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple One will increase beginning today. The change to Apple Music is due to an increase in licensing costs, and in turn, artists and songwriters will earn more for the streaming of their music.
