If you’ve always wanted to be an organ donor but don’t know where to register, the government will be opening up an easy way for you to do so through an app we are all been very familiar with since the beginning of MCO.

In a news report by Malay Mail, the MySejahtera app will soon be updated to allow Malaysians to register as organ donors on their smartphones, according to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He also added the update should arrive in Google Play Store and Apple App Store in the next few days.

This feature is possible thanks to the tech within the MySejahtera app and they just have to enable it.

This is one of the steps the Health Ministry will introduce to raise awareness of organ donation and increase organs donated.

In Malaysia, organ donation is very, very low. Due to this, the option for organ donation is not available or not widely available in our country.

The National Transplant Resource Center will receive information on applicants’ pledges made on MySejahtera and use it to notify hospitals around the nation about the availability of organs, expediting the procedure overall.

So any hospital, if there is a death, and with an eligible recipient, it will be reflected in the system that the deceased is an organ donor and this information can be conveyed to family members.

The 500,000 previously registered organ donors will also be updated in the system.
