If you are using TikTok every day and you wonder, “Wouldn’t it be nice if I could make money out of this?” Well, yes you can. TikTok is giving you some monetary rewards if you can help them attract new users to the platform.

According to a lowyat.net article, although the rewards programme has been running for a while in other nations, it appears to have just been introduced in Malaysia without any announcement.

Before you get too excited and start inviting your friends and family, you should know the feature may not be available on every account just yet, and the incentive amount varies from user to user. It appears that certain accounts are qualified to receive RM55 for each referral while others are entitled to RM65 for each new user who used their referral code. Lowyat.net said that even though the app is set to English, from the few accounts they have checked so far, the rewards page appears to only be available in Bahasa Melayu.

It’s not easy getting that few hundred ringgit. This referral programme is subject to various restrictions. First off, you can only profit from the first 10 successful referrals that you make. Accordingly, you can only receive a maximum of RM 550 to RM 650, depending on the amount that your account receives.

Furthermore, the new member who used your coupon must watch at least 30 minutes of content every day for 10 days in a row in order for a referral to truly qualify for a reward. TikTok didn’t say what happens if the new user skips a day. Will the entire referral be invalidated or the new user has to restart the streak?

The programme just launched in Malaysia on 22 July, per TikTok’s terms and conditions. The reward sum may also be withdrawn, but only once a day, to your PayPal or bank account, according to the statement.

Only new users in the same country as the referrer who have never downloaded the TikTok app, registered a TikTok account, and are eligible for rewards. In order for the referrer to be eligible for the reward, TikTok’s FAQ also states that new users must enter the referral code on the rewards page within 24 hours.

If you want to learn more about the referral programme, you can head over to TikTok’s FAQ.

In other TikTok-related news, the company was sued recently for allegedly pushing violent content to minorities.
