Google’s latest update to their Google TV app let’s iPhone users turn their devices into remote controls for their Android TV.

Apple TV users have always been able to control and enter text on their Apple TV using their iPhones and iPads. But this is the first time that they can control an Android TV.

The feature has been introduced to 100 countries. In the region the list includes Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, Vietnam, and Laos.

Pairing the device – be it Android or iPhone – as a remote to an Android TV is as simple as tapping on the remote control icon in the Google TV app and following the prompts.

The app can also be used to get recommendations across multiple streaming services, manage shows to watch, and more.

You can find the Google TV app on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
