Acer officially announced that a limited number of the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition will be available for pre-order in Malaysia.
The special edition environmentally friendly laptop is made in collaboration with the National Geographic. Each purchase will help support the U.S.-based global non-profit National Geographic Society.
Acer will also channel RM100 from the sale of the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition in Malaysia to fund tree adoption.
The Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition has only one variant. It has an Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD and a 15.6in FHD IPS display.
For ports there’s a USB Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. For connectivity there’s an RJ-45 Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 6.
It features a topographic map pattern on the cover, the iconic National Geographic yellow border on the bottom right of the keyboard and the words “For Planet Earth” on the space bar.
The packaging has also been designed to be reusable
Pre-orders for the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition start on 1 May. The price is RM4,299. It comes with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021.
At the same time, Acer also announced that the starting price of the – standard edition – Aspire Vero has dropped to RM2,999
The Aspire Vero was launched in Malaysia in November last year and has a starting price of RM3,399. It is made of recyclable materials and designed to be user repairable.

To make the laptop more accessible Acer Malaysia announced a trade-in programme with up to RM500 cash rebate for both the standard and National Geographic Edition of the Aspire Vero.
Those who bring their old devices to be traded in at an Acer concept store can get an immediate cash rebate for buying an Aspire Vero or pre-ordering an Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition.
Those who bring their old devices to be traded in at an Acer office and Highpoint service centre will be given a promo code that can be redeemed at the Acer eStore or Acer official store on Shopee.
Acer is also offering promotions to sweeten the deal.
Purchase these laptops on the Acer eStore pay using a Maybank credit card and get an additional 5% off.
The first 50 units will come with a Vero Mouse and Vero Mousepad.
Buy an Aspire Vero or Aspire Vero National Geographic edition during the promotion and you get to choose between a gift worth up to RM199 or Touch n’ Go eWallet credit worth RM120
The trade-in program and promotions will be available from 1 May to 31 July.
