If you see a small chevron (a ‘V’ shape) next to the Instagram logo at the top of your app then congratulations, you now have the option to choose how you see your feed: Favourites and Following.
That means now you have three Instagram feeds: Home (default) and two additional tabs: Following and Favourites.
Following is basically what everyone has been asking, a chronologically arranged feed of Instagram accounts you follow.
It is basically what we want the Home feed to be, a detritus free chronologically arranged feed. No suggested posts, recommendations, and anything else.
Favourites will show you the latest posts from the accounts you have curated and marked as favourites. Posts from those in your Favourite list will appear on top of your Home feed as well.
But, you can only Favourite 50 accounts.
The Following tab is what we all want Instagram to be and it would be perfect if it was the default feed.
The Favourites tab just makes us wish that there are more tabs, like Twitter where we can categorise accounts we follow.
That said, this new feature is not available to everyone just yet but it should be by the end of the week.
