The president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is trying his hands on selling non-fungible token (NFT) art as a way to raise funds.

Using the NFT4HOPE platform to mint NFT, Syed Saddiq, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Muar since 2018, launched the Muar Sejiwa campaign.

According to the blurb on the campaign page, ”the funds raised will be used towards the support of the constituency”.

The Muar Sejiwa collection of NFT art consists of 33 pieces made by Malaysian artist Jaee Tee.

Each piece is given a rarity rating: 1 common (100 copies), 1 uncommon (50 copies), 20 rare, 10 super rare, and 1 ultra-rare. All of the art features Malaysia’s (former) youngest cabinet minister, Syed Saddiq himself.

This will be the first of its kind fundraising methodology and will be done as an experiment to understand and exploit transparent and accountable fundraising mechanisms to set the scene for the future.
