Starting this week, Waze is launching a campaign with Volkswagen to add Map support for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging sites in the United States (US).
This is the first time the app is adding locations of EV charging stations. Waze will also lets users contribute by adding charging sites on the app that’s not on the map.
Although Waze said that the feature went live on Friday, 9to5Google reports that they didn’t see it on their map.
The feature is made available as more people are buying EVs while more brands are adding EVs in their line ups and more charging sites are going live, according to BloombergNEF.
Notably, Google Maps and Apple Maps have already featured charging station locations on their navigation systems for years now.
Google Maps also include information like how many plugs are working and available at a charging station. This feature is already available in Malaysia.
