Consumer Tech Company Feeds 600 families Through Partnership

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi recently wrapped a corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign with partners Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, donating food and household essentials to 600 B40 families.

Xiaomi’s South East Asian General Manager, K. M. Leong and Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore’s Country Manager, Nicholas Shi contributed to the efforts by helping with the packing and distribution activities.

The partnership with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia managed to help families in The Poorest People’s Housing Program (PPRT) in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Selangor and Terengganu.

Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia’s COO, Johan Halid said that the effort will help reduce food waste. He added that Xiaomi is the first consumer tech company they have collaborated with and hopes that many more industry leaders stepping in and giving back to the communities that need the support.
