Malaysia To Get 100% 4G Coverage By 2025, 80% 5G Coverage By 2026: Ismail Sabri

The government aims to achieve 80% 5G coverage nationwide by 2026. Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Malaysia will not be left behind.

The launch of 5G coverage will start in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya before expanding to other densely populated states within the first year.

Meanwhile, the government is also targeting a 100% 4G coverage in Malaysia by the year 2025. Currently, 94% of populated areas in Malaysians have 4G.

6.42 million premises nationwide are equipped with fiber optics. This number is expected to increase to 9 million by 2025

Ismail Sabri said this at the launch of the National micro, small and medium enterprises (PMKS) Digitisation Empowerment Program 2021, in Bera, Pahang.
