To alleviate parents’ worries as classes in public schools have started, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) have introduced a new tool that details the vaccination rate at schools.
The launch of School Search was announced by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in a tweet. It is hoped that the new feature will give confidence and comfort to parents, teachers, and not to mention students.
(2/2) We hope this gives confidence and comfort to parents and teachers alike.— Khairy Jamaluddin 🇲🇾🌺 (@Khairykj) October 10, 2021
For now, the schools listed are mainly KPM schools. Private schools can opt in by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the email subject 'COVIDNOW Inclusion'. pic.twitter.com/aQCbjuGU41
Currently, the data available are mainly for schools under the purview of the MOE.
The data presented will include the vaccination rates of students and staff of a particular school.
It displays the percentage of students and staff, including support staff, who had their first dose and have completed their vaccination.
There is also a chart showing vaccination rates by cohorts. It lists the percentage of those vaccinated based on the year they were born.
