This event used to be known as the Steam Game Festival. But, Valve changed the name to Steam Next Fest in March 2021. According to Valve, the event’s focus as a multi-day celebration of gaming is more clearly communicated by the new name.
What is Steam Next Fest? This event showcases upcoming games from game developers all around the world. There will be livestreams as well, you can watch and chat with the developers about their games.

According to the Steam’s website, there appears to be over 700 game demos to try. We know it is overwhelming, but Steam has made it easy for you to get started. Steam has categorized the demos into ‘Popular Upcoming’, ‘Most Wishlisted Upcoming Games’, and ‘Daily Active Demo Players’. You can also search what you want to play with nine available filters.

Some games look interesting such as Undecember, a Diablo-like game, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, an action-adventure fantasy game starring a young heroine with the ability to switch and mix different weapons on-the-fly. Last but not least, From Space, a twin-stick solo and co-op shooter, set in a post-apocalyptic world infested with aliens.

All these game demos are free to play. You just need to install a Steam client on your PC and register an account.
So if you are looking for something to play, look no further than Steam Next Fest. Remember, this event will only last until 10 October.
