ESL Gaming announced its first Dota 2 competition with a live audience in Southeast Asia since 2019. It is also the company’s first tournament in the region since ESL One Genting 2018.
The ESL One Malaysia 2022 is detached from the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) so no one is getting a free spot on The International (TI) 11. However, there is a 400,000USD total prize pool.
The tournament will begin on 23 August with the group stage featuring 12 of the world’s best Dota 2 teams making their way through the best-of-two round-robin format.
They will be vying for the eight playoff spots before moving on to a best of three double-elimination format with the grand final being decided through a best of five.
The playoff stage will take place in front of a live audience at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting.
The ticket sale for ESL One Malaysia 2022 will begin on 10 June 10 at 3 pm (Malaysia time). Ticket Prices range between RM69 and RM399.
