GigaBash is an online, 4-player battle royale game that features Kaijus or monsters and heroes fighting each other in an arena.
This Kaiju game is being developed and published by independent game developer, Passion Republic Games.
They are set to release the game early 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
Passion Republic Games
Passion Republic is a company that provides outsourcing game development services for AAA developers and publishers.
They have experience in making games for names like Xbox Game Studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix to name a few.
They have worked on titles like Uncharted 4, Batman Arkham Knight, Gears of War 4, Dark Souls III and Injustice 2, among others.
The best part is, they are based in Malaysia.
Kongkrete The Building Monster
Recently, they announced the newest addition to the game, a playable character known as Kongkrete the Building Monster.
Kongkrete’s announcement was paired with a trailer that showcased its different looks and some gameplay.
The character is a Kaiju, which is also a building that eats and attacks its enemies, a bizzare chara
The trailer also shows Kongkrete attacking opponents with its giant mouth to inflicting damage, and the character can also use its entire body to attack opponents.
Kongkrete was also shown to be able to disguise itself as a normal building, an ability it can mainly use to surprise-attack enemies.
According to Passion Republic, Kongkrete has three main skills in GigaBash;
- Concrete Roller, where it rolls its entire body to crush things in its path.
- Confusion Flash, where Kongkrete fires a blinding burst of energy to stun enemies.
- Skyscraper, this is where Kongkrete disguises itself as a skyscraper and in this form it can deploy an aerial attack and trap monsters inside its body while in this form.
What is GigaBash?
The game revolves around humanity discovering a new energy form that awakens these Kaijus from deep within the Earth.
The rude awakening causes the Kaijus to go on a rampage to take over the planet while humanity calls upon its own heroes to protect them.
The studio said the game is based on old Kaiju movies, and I personally find the story line reminiscent of the Godzilla franchise.

Passion Republic has revealed the playable characters which include hero, Gigaman, giant mech Thundatross and Woolley the playful Yeti along with seven others.
GigaBash still have two more mystery characters yet to be revealed, but players can expect the reveals to happen before the launch.
