Before heading back to kampung, it takes less than a minute to see what you are driving into.
The Malaysian Highway Authority — Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) — provides live highway CCTV feeds on its official website. Instead of relying on forwarded WhatsApp messages or outdated traffic screenshots, drivers can check conditions in real time.
How To Check Traffic via LLM CCTV
- Search Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) on Google.
- Open the official website.
- Click on “Paparan CCTV Lebuh Raya” on the homepage.
- Select the highway you want to view.
- Scroll through the camera angles to assess traffic flow.
The live feed allows you to see congestion levels, lane conditions and general traffic movement before committing to a departure time.
LLM expects traffic to begin rising from Friday, 13 February 2026, ahead of Chinese New Year celebrations. In an official statement, the authority projected total highway traffic volume could reach approximately 3.27 million vehicles at its peak.
Highways expected to see the highest volume include:
- PLUS-operated highways: around 2.2 million vehicles
- Karak Highway
- East Coast Expressway (Phase 1 and Phase 2)
- West Coast Expressway
- Connecting routes such as DUKE, LATAR and LEKAS
To manage the surge, LLM has instructed toll concessionaires to:
- Avoid lane closures except for emergency works during the peak period
- Activate SmartLanes at selected PLUS locations
- Ensure toll collection systems are functioning properly
- Maintain rest and service (R&R) facilities
- Provide additional temporary toilets where necessary
- Deploy extra personnel to manage congestion at stopovers
Motorcyclists will also have access to hundreds of designated shelter locations along highways.
What Drivers Should Do
- Refer to official travel time advisories
- Ensure vehicles are in good condition
- Maintain sufficient balance in Touch ‘n Go cards or eWallets
- Be aware of SmartLane zones
- Plan travel outside peak windows where possible
Checking traffic before departure is no longer complicated. The information is public, live and easy to access.
