Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2026 is now open for applications and updates. Here’s a clear, step-by-step guide on who qualifies, when to apply, what documents are needed, and every possible way to submit your application — online, through MyDigital ID, or manually.

What Is STR 2026?

STR is a cash assistance programme introduced to help lower- and middle-income households cope with the rising cost of living. Under Budget 2026, the allocation was increased to cover a wider range of categories, including households, single elderly individuals, eligible singles, and vulnerable groups registered under eKasih or the Welfare Department (JKM).

Application Period

Applications and updates for STR 2026 Phase 1 opened on 13 October 2025. The MySTR portal accepts submissions year-round.

If your name is not listed in the STR database, you must apply. Those who have not updated their information for three consecutive years are also required to reapply.

Who Is Eligible

  • Households with a monthly income of up to RM5,000.
  • Single elderly persons without a spouse and with income of up to RM5,000.
  • Single individuals (non full-time students) with income of up to RM2,500.
  • Vulnerable groups registered under eKasih or the Welfare Department.

Refer to the official portal for the detailed eligibility tables and specific income bands for each recipient category.

How To Apply: All Methods Explained

You can apply in three main ways: online via the MySTR portal, using MyDigital ID for faster verification, or by submitting a manual (paper) application at designated offices.

1) Online Via The MySTR Portal

  • Visit bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my and select Permohonan Baharu (New Application) or Kemas Kini (Update) if you already have a MySTR account.
  • Enter your MyKad number and click Semak to verify your identity.
  • Complete the form with your personal details, household income, dependants, and bank account information.
  • Upload supporting documents as required (MyKad copy, proof of income, marriage/divorce/death certificates, birth certificates for dependants, and OKU card if applicable).
  • Review and submit. Keep your application reference number for future checks.

Even if you previously applied, you must register a new MySTR account for STR 2026.

2) Apply Using MyDigital ID

  • On the portal, select Permohonan Baharu dengan MyDigital ID to use the government’s official digital identity system.
  • Scan the QR code displayed to authenticate through the MyDigital ID app. Once verified, an STR account can be automatically created and linked to your digital identity.
  • Complete any remaining fields and upload your supporting documents, then submit.

MyDigital ID simplifies the verification process, reduces errors, and eliminates the need to register a MySTR account manually.

3) Manual Or Paper Application

If you cannot apply online:

  • Download and fill in Borang BK-01 from the STR portal.
  • Submit the completed form and supporting documents in person at any LHDN / HASiL branch, satellite office, or UTC HASiL.
  • Alternatively, post your form and documents to the STR Secretariat address provided on the portal (for example, GPO Shah Alam or the Secretariat in Putrajaya).
  • Fax or email submissions are not accepted.

If you face issues uploading documents online, bring the originals or certified copies to your nearest branch and request a receipt as proof of submission.

Required Documents

  • Copy of MyKad (applicant).
  • Marriage certificate for married applicants (or bring the original to the branch within seven days).
  • Divorce or death certificate if applicable.
  • Birth certificates and MyKid/MyKad copies for dependants.
  • Proof of income, such as payslips, EPF statements, or bank records.
  • OKU card for applicants aged 19–20 who qualify under disability provisions.

After You Apply: Checking Status And Payments

  • Log in to MySTR on the portal to check your application status.
  • Keep your application reference number.
  • Approved payments will be credited to the registered bank account.
  • If bank credit fails or no account is provided, you can claim cash at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches as instructed by the portal.
  • Eligible recipients under SARA will be automatically linked to the programme; no separate application is needed.

Extra Tips And Reminders

  • Applications are free. Only use the official portal to avoid scams.
  • Always keep copies of uploaded documents and your submission receipt.
  • If you forget your password or have access issues, use the recovery feature on the portal or visit your nearest LHDN / HASiL office.
  • A hotline number is available on the STR portal for direct assistance.

STR 2026 continues the government’s commitment to targeted financial aid through a more secure, centralised system. Whether you apply online, with MyDigital ID, or by hand, ensure your information is accurate and updated to avoid delays in approval or payment.
