Apple Pay was launched in October 2014, and after more than 7 years, it is finally here in Malaysia. If you don’t know what it is, let us explain. Apple Pay is basically a mobile payment service that allows you to link your debit or credit cards to an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch for cashless payment.

Although you can use Apple Pay here, not all banks and services support it. According to Apple, here’s a list of financial institutions that do and don’t. Of course, eventually most, if not all, of the banks and services will support it.

Banks That Support Apple Pay

  • Maybank (American Express, Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards)
  • AmBank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards)
  • HSBC
  • Standard Chartered Bank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards)

Banks That Don’t Support Apple Pay

  • CIMB: Coming in later half of 2023.
  • Hong Leong Bank.
  • UOB
  • Citibank Malaysia
  • Affin Bank
  • RHB Bank.
  • OCBC Bank
