Spotify launched a new premium plan aimed at the college and university students. You can now listen to ad-free music for as low as RM7.90 per month.

Spotify Premium for Students will be available for those studying at an accredited college or university for up to four years.

The plan only lasts for a year, meaning students will have to reverify annually but they can subscribe to the plan for 3 more years after they have graduated.

According to Spotify, you can continue using your student account after graduating as long as you first subscribed to the plan when you were still studying.

Your account will be converted to the standard Premium Plan at RM14.90 a month once your Student Plan subscription finished.

If you have subscribed to Premium before, the first month will be free and you can cancel at anytime.

The documents that you can use to support your claim includes an Official Enrolment Letter, a class schedule, a transcript, or a tuition receipt. Offer letters will not be accepted as proof according to Spotify’s FAQ.

Lower Prices For Premium Mini Plan

Spotify has also reduced the prices of their Premium Mini daily and weekly plans to RM0.75 and RM2.90 respectively. Previously they used to charge RM1 for daily and RM3.90 for weekly.

It comes with all the perks of a full Premium plan but users are only able to download 30 songs. The plan is made for those who might want Spotify Premium, but not on a regular basis.
